My Story

Yoga was my light bulb.  I first stepped on the mat at a time in my life when I felt disconnected. Through my practice, I connected.  Body, Mind, Heart, Soul, Spirit. Over and over again, I connected. I grounded. I centered. I opened. I laughed. I cried. I strengthened. I softened. I relaxed. I was finally able to breathe. My perspective had shifted and I knew that I must share this practice and am honored to do so.

I am a grateful mama, wife and yoga teacher. Teaching yoga since 2009, my classes are purposeful, grounded and creative; with a bit of sweetness and humor woven in. More than a sequence of postures, I create an experience through my offerings, intending to be fully embodied and fully present. The older I get and the more I practice, I consider yoga a SOUL practice, an exploration of what it means to be HUMAN.

Originally from New Jersey, I made my way to beautiful Charleston, SC. I was a dancer and Pilates instructor and graduated with a BA in Psychology from Goucher College in Maryland. I received my Interdisciplinary 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica, my Advanced 300 Hour Teacher Training through Asheville Yoga Center and my children's yoga training through Grounded Kids. I studied mindfulness with Mindful Schools and continue to educate myself through a variety of other specialized trainings*. I now reside with my sweet husband and magical little girl in Riverland Terrace on James Island. I LOVE being a mama, and enjoy cooking, reading, writing, the beach, the mountains, music, movies, travel and time with family and friends.
